Welcome APWC Members!

One of the on-going conversations during the last few weeks has been
about the  purchase by Amador County of the Wicklow Property on Hwy 88 just west of Jackson.
The stated purpose of this purchase is to build a new County jail.

For more information on this topic, the speaker for the December meeting
will be Amador County Chief Administrative Officer, Terri Daly.

Because this concerns all of Amador County, this will be an Open Meeting,
meaning that all interested persons are welcome to attend.

The December meeting of the Progressive Women's Committee
will be held on Thursday, December 3rd at 11:30 AM at Thomi's Banquet Room in Jackson.

If you plan on attending, please... Respond to Sally at trestrail@volcano.net, or 267-0177
no later than Tuesday, December 1st at 5:30pm

The buffet luncheon is $15.00 which includes entree, salad, vegetarian offering, various drinks, coffee,
tea, dessert, tax and tip. Cash or checks made payable to Thomi's.

Note:  If you make a reservation, and cannot attend, please call me and cancel by Wednesday noon.
You may be billed for the luncheon if you do not show up and have not canceled.

The Progressive Women's Committee is a monthly luncheon group that is in its fifth year. Originally started with some volunteers from the 2004 campaign, who wanted a place to meet and talk, without the person next to her having voted for GWB.  We've loosened up a little since those early days and now we welcome all progressive women who are interested in local issues as well as those on a state or national level.
Members are as diverse as the issues we raise:  local business women. community activists, retirees, and interested residents. Often, we have a speaker, and other months we have sort of round table discussion on whatever interests us at that time. Occasionally, we will have an open meeting for a special speaker, to include spouses or friends.
Please come and join in the fun.  At this time we have no dues or officers, but occasionally we will take a simple vote of those present, if we want to make a statement on a local issue.  We generally meet on the first Thursday of each month.
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions, Sally Trestrail - 267-0177 or trestrail@volcano.net
