About the Woman's Club of Jackson...
The Woman's Club of Jackson was formed in 1910 to better conditions in the City of Jackson, Our purpose was to promote Social, Civic, Educational, and Philanthropic projects in the City of Jackson. Participation in community service was a primary objective from the beginning when 56 ladies joined the effort in the "great and pressing need of a high school". Detert Park was beneficiary of the club's energy between 1934 and 1939, when members helped in choosing its ornamental landscape plan. Throughout the years, our past history indicates sponsorship of a Boy Scout troop, child welfare programs and charitable programs for the less fortunate. Early on, the clubhouse was made available to the county for the use as a library until a permanent one could be established sometime after
1920. In addition, the club was instrumental in restoration work on the cemetery in Jackson and providing park benches on Main Street. Our scholarships awards to students annually are invaluable. We continue to support the Interfaith Food Bank, Amador Stars (cancer fund), and other deserving organizations.
Our social time provides opportunities to meet and make new friendships over "member hostess" prepared meals in a relaxed atmosphere. Each month we offer interesting and educational programs. We are women of all ages, interests, educational and economic backgrounds. Whether your fulfillment lies in making new friends, helping your community or just finding time for you, we hope you will visit us soon. Membership is open to all women in Amador and surrounding counties.

Woman's Club of Jackson Donates Food to the Interfaith Food Bank
At the February 4 luncheon of of the Woman's Club of Jackson, over 100 lbs. of non-perishable food was donated to the Amador County Interfaith Food Bank to assist in their fine efforts. The meeting was attended by 28 members of the club.
The guest Speaker was Jackson Fire Chief, Mark Morton. His comments on important fire safety and prevention measures, and historical information about the Jackson Fire Department, were very informative. After the meeting the club held its monthly raffles.
The Woman's Club of Jackson was formulated in 1910 for the purpose of “advancing the City of Jackson in the County of Amador.” The Club continues to promote civic, social and educational endeavors.
All women interested in attending the Club's meetings are welcome. The luncheons are held at the Native Sons Hall 47 Summit (the corner of Court and Summit) at 11:30 am, the first Friday of each month during the months of October through June. Woman’s Club of Jackson Donates Toys for Tots
At the November 4 luncheon held by the Woman’s Club of Jackson, members were joined by Sergeant Patrick Weart, Amador County Sheriff’s Office.
