AMADOR RADIO CONTROL 4 X 4 is a forming group that meets at the local parks in Sutter Creek. This group accepts most types of off road radio control vehicles (No New Brights.) The fourth Amador Radio Control 4x4 meet is coming up and will be held at Bryson Park in Sutter Creek, California from 3PM to 5PM on April 17th, 2011. This meet is to provide information to beginning drivers who come and for experienced drivers to hang out and drive.

GOLD COUNTRY FLYERS of Amador County, meets the 1st Thursday of every month from 7-9PM, Amador County Ag Building, 12200 Airport Road, Jackson Founded in 1972, the Gold Country Flyers is a 90+ Member Club nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Gold Country. We are dedicated to the enjoyment and advancement of building and flying radio controlled aircraft. All levels of experience are welcome. Free instruction is available to those just starting out. Club membership is required to fly at our flying field, Spiva Field, is located approximately 5 miles north of Ione, CA on Michigan Bar Road. Membership is open to all Amador County residents; visitors interested in RC are always welcome. SPANISH CLASSES - There are currently 6 classes, all levels are available at the hospital on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  There is also Medical Spanish and GED in Spanish, and private classes are also available.   A series of 5 group  classes is $45. AMADOR COMMISSION ON AGING meets every third Wednesday at 10AM at the Amador Senior Center on New York Ranch Road, Jackson.  Public is invited, and there is always a public sector item on agenda for anyone who wishes to address the commission.



AMERICAN SEWING GUILD Amador Chapter meets the 2nd Thursday from 9AM to 12 Noon and the 4th Monday from 9:30-3PM Old General Store, Drytown The local American Sewing Guild sew many items for various groups in the county. Volunteers are welcome for as much time as they wish to give. They recently donated 24 quilts to the Sheriff Dept., and 15 quilts to the pregnancy help center.  They are constantly looking for organizations that have a need of the service we can provide, and also for sewers who want to help fill these needs.  If this is something of interest to you, please contact Roseanne Lauters at 245-691. generalstor@yahoo.com
The ASG has also supplied all the fabric and crystals to make Cool Ties and Helmet Coolers for the Soldiers in war zones. There are many of you who came to the First S.O.S. Support Our Soldiers workshop August 17 at the Jackson Senior Center.  With your help we made 134 cool ties and 13 helmet coolers.  Our workshops will be held on the Second Wednesday of each month at The American Legion Building, 12134 Airport Rd., Sutter Creek, from 9AM to 4PM. You can bring a lunch or something to share. We hope to make 3,500 ties/coolers by year end. General sewing supplies such as rotary cutter, matt, sewing machine, scissors, dark thread are all that is needed to make these. If you don't have these items there will be supplies available to use.
